TheDialer is a simple freeware tool for making a connection
to the Internet from your EPOC device. It enhances the standard
options by allowing you to connect to a phone number entered just
for this connection. This is useful for travellers who use the
same internet provider, but must dial a different local phone
number from their current location.
You can also disconnect immediately from the network, without
having to have email, web or some other internet application open.
In future versions I want to add a database of (customisable)
phone numbers for popular service providers such as IBM.net or
MCIWorldcom. Contact me

- TheDialer does not create a new connection - you must already
have a working internet connection for TheDialer to be useful.
- You must have EPOC Release 5 (ER5) or better on your system.
There is a list
of compatible devices.
- 'Not Found'
dialog appears after installing TheDialer and tapping on its
extra's bar icon. Your system does not have EPOC Release 5 (ER5)
as its operating system, and therefore cannot provide certain
features TheDialer requires. Use the Add/remove control panel
to uninstall TheDialer, because it will not work on your system.
- 'Timed Out'. If connections time out almost immediately after
they complete, this seems to occur on machines where the Internet
control panel setting 'on exit, stay online for' is set to 0:00.
If you change this to a non-zero value, TheDialer appears to
work normally. Note that 'Hang Up' or 'Disconnect From the Internet'
always work immediately, so this setting need not increase your
